Panola County Jail Roster
Panola County inmate records for current local custody are published through the Panola County Sheriff's Office inmate roster. The roster is part of the sheriff's OCV site and is listed under Jail Info. The same official system also has a recent arrests feed, which is useful when a booking is new and the user is trying to match a name to the most recent jail intake entries.
The roster is free and did not require login during inspection. It is a JavaScript page, so it may fail to load in an old browser or with strict script blocking. The direct OCV feed at the public inmate feed returned current roster records as JSON during research. If neither route works, call Panola County Jail at 662-563-6230 or make a narrow written records request to the sheriff's office for a booking record, jail docket entry, or release record.
The official Panola County inmate roster interface is the source shown here.
The screenshot shows why the roster should be treated as the first local access channel, but not the only one. Missing names, delayed updates, and transferred inmates require phone, records, MDOC, BOP, ICE, or VINE follow-up.
Use Panola County Inmate Search
A useful Panola County inmate records search starts with the exact name, date of birth if known, and any booking date or arrest date. The public entries are titled with the inmate's full name, and the feed content includes the booking number, inmate ID, charges, codes, and mugshot image links. For a custody question, the booking number is more useful than a broad name because it identifies one booking event.
- Open the Panola County Sheriff's Office site.
- Choose Jail Info, then Inmate Roster, or go straight to the roster page.
- Let the OCV page load before assuming the person is not listed.
- Search or scan for the full name shown on the public entry.
- Open the entry if the interface offers a detail view, then copy the booking number and inmate ID.
- If the entry is missing, use the jail phone, sheriff records clerk, recent-arrests feed, or written public-records request.
Do not treat a roster charge as a final court result. The Panola County jail roster records the arrest or booking charge. Justice Court, Circuit Court, the District Attorney, or a grand jury can later change what is filed in court. For the case side, use the local court channels described on the court records after jail arrest page.
Panola County Roster Fields
The public sheriff roster works more like a feed-list search than a formal court database. The research did not locate a required login, paid search, or advanced form. The raw OCV feed has no required query parameters, while the visible page lets a user search or filter the listed entries. These are the captured roster controls and fields.

Panola County Inmate Record Details
Panola County inmate records in the OCV current-inmates feed showed a clear set of public fields when inspected. The feed did not show bond amounts, housing unit, pod, cell, arresting agency, court date, warrant number, release date, home address, or Social Security number. Date of birth was visible in the public feed, so users should handle copied roster data with care.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Title | Public full name of the inmate. |
| Booking Number | Year-prefixed booking event number, such as the examples captured in research. |
| Inmate ID | Person or jail-system identifier. |
| Booking Date and Time | Date and 24-hour time of jail intake. |
| DOB, Race, Gender | Basic demographic fields visible in the public feed. |
| Charge Description | Booking charge text, hold language, or custody label. |
| Charge Code | Statute, court code, or special code such as USMS. |
| Images | Mugshot URLs tied to the roster entry. |
Some charge descriptions are not simple local misdemeanors. The inspected feed included labels such as probation violation, foreign warrant, fugitive, holding, state inmate, and housing inmate for USMS. Those terms often mean another court or agency may affect release, even when the person is physically housed at Panola County Jail.
Panola County Jail Contact
Panola County Jail is the only detention facility identified in the Panola facility map. It is operated by the Panola County Sheriff's Office. The county government sheriff page names Sheriff Shane Phelps and describes the sheriff's jail-management role, while the sheriff OCV jail information page lists Jail Administrator Bobby Meek and Jail Administrative Assistant Latoya Taylor.

County jail for pretrial, local sentenced, holds, and other listed custody statuses.
The sheriff OCV source marks video visitation as available, but it does not publish a full visit schedule, dress code, visit approval rule, or visitor ID list. Confirm the current visit rule, mail rule, and inmate ID format with the jail before traveling or mailing property.
Panola County Jail Visitation
The official jail information source is brief. It says video visitation is available, commissary food deposits use Commissary Deposit, and inmate phone information is through City Tele Coin. No official Panola source reviewed for this build published a complete in-person visitation schedule, remote visit fee, on-site kiosk rule, attorney visit process, or holiday closure rule.
| Topic | Official Panola Detail | Use This Caution |
|---|---|---|
| Video visitation | Listed as yes | Call the jail for schedule, vendor steps, and fees. |
| In-person visits | Not located | Do not assume walk-in visits are allowed. |
| Visitor ID | Not located | Bring government ID and confirm requirements first. |
| No local mail policy located | Call before sending photos, books, cards, or money orders. | |
| Attorney visits | Not located | Attorneys should arrange professional access with jail or court staff. |
For mail, the safest request-to-confirm format is inmate full name and inmate ID or booking number, Panola County Jail, 300 James Rudd Drive, Batesville, MS 38606. That is not a published Panola mail rule. It is a starting point for a phone confirmation.
Panola County Inmate Services
The jail information source named two service paths. Commissary Deposit is listed for commissary food deposits, and City Tele Coin is listed for inmate phone information. The source did not publish local rates, deposit limits, kiosk availability, refund rules, or whether cash can be accepted in person.
| Service | Vendor or Route | Published Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Commissary food deposits | Commissary Deposit | Not published by the Panola source |
| Phone information | City Tele Coin | Not published by the Panola source |
| Money at jail or kiosk | No official rule located | Not located |
Note: Confirm custody status and the booking number before sending funds, scheduling a video visit, or setting up phone service.
Panola County Custody Paths
Panola County inmate records do not all live in one database. The county roster is for people held at Panola County Jail. The MDOC inmate search is for sentenced state prisoners and state custody records. The BOP inmate locator is for federal prisoners from 1982 to the present. ICE ODLS is for immigration detention searches by A-number or biographical data.
| Custody Type | Where to Search | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| County jail pretrial or local sentence | Panola County roster | Person is held at Panola County Jail. |
| Sentenced state prisoner | Mississippi Department of Corrections | Person moved into MDOC custody after sentence or supervision action. |
| Federal custody | Federal Bureau of Prisons or USMS route | County roster may show a local USMS hold, but federal records are separate. |
| Immigration custody | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | ODLS is not a county jail roster and does not publish county booking photos. |
Mississippi SAVIN and VINELink add notification support. MDOC says VINE can notify registered users about transfers, custody return, escape or abscond supervision, and release. The Office of MS SAVIN phone line is 601-359-5759 during standard business hours, and the 24-hour representative number is 1-888-9-MSSAVIN.
Panola County App and Records
The county links an official Panola County Mississippi OCV app. The app-share page routes users to Google Play and the Apple App Store. The sheriff web manifest advertises Inmate Roster, Recent Arrests, Most Wanted, Submit A Tip, Sex Offenders, Patrol Request, and related features, so the app is a useful fallback when the web roster is hard to use on a phone.
For older or missing records, ask narrowly. Mississippi's Public Records Act, including Section 25-61-1, supports public access unless an exemption applies. Section 25-61-7 allows actual-cost fees for search, review, duplication, and mailing. A good request gives the full name, date of birth if known, booking number, booking date, record type, and contact information.
Mississippi law also recognizes a jail-docket duty for county sheriffs. Research located legislative text quoting Section 47-1-21, which describes an alphabetical jail docket for people placed in a county detention facility. That does not mean every jail-docket field is posted online. It does support the practical request path when the public roster lacks an older booking, a release date, or a record that has moved out of the current OCV feed.
Keep the request focused on Panola County Jail unless the facts show a transfer. If the roster says state inmate, probation violation, parole violation, or a supervision-related hold, search MDOC and VINE as well. If the roster says USMS, ask the jail which agency controls release, then use the federal locator or Northern District of Mississippi contact route for non-emergency federal custody questions.
